The Rotary Club of Jefferson is now accepting applications for grants from the proceeds of its 20th annual charity auction.
In the past, the club has directed proceeds from its annual charity auction to worthy non-profit organizations and projects throughout Greene County.
More than $440,000 has been aimed at helping local schools, libraries, community organizations and other entities make improvements and services that benefit our county’s quality of life.
Rotary anticipates making grants to local projects totaling up to $35,000 this year.
These grants are possible because of the generous support of many donors and supporters in the community that contribute year after year to the success of Rotary’s annual auction and without such generosity these grants would not be possible. The auction not only raises needed funds for worthy projects but is also an evening of fellowship and entertainment.
“Our community has always shown strong support for our local non-profit organizations and there are many worthwhile causes to support. The funds raised from the auction will help those organizations achieve their charitable goals.” said Joel Williams, Rotary past president and chair of the 2018 auction.
The application process is open to non-profit organizations whose programs or projects benefit others in the areas of peace, conflict resolution and other social issues; fighting disease and promoting health; providing clean water/environmental issues; economic and community development; and youth/education and literacy.
Applications must be postmarked or emailed by Friday, Feb. 25, 2019, for consideration.
